Suction Cup Dildos: How to Use Them for Unforgettable Pleasure

Suction Cup Dildos: How to use them for unforgettable pleasure

Dildos, and suction cup dildos, are some of the most recognisable sex toys on the planet. Due to their variety in shapes, styles, and features, these phallic sex toys can be found in just about every adult store and can be enjoyed by everyone.

A short history lesson

At the time of writing, the oldest known dildo dates back around 28 thousand years, discovered in Germany. Although there were many debates on what this phallic wooden object was used for (including suggestions it was a sewing tool), the tapered shape and well-polished tip strongly suggest it was used just as we’d use our dildos today.

Over time, dildos have developed into one of our bedroom favourites, with new features and designs being explored to improve the pleasure to be had!

Now, just about half of us in the UK own some sort of sex toy, and we have the brilliant dildo to thank for bringing us new toys from its simple beginnings…

What makes suction cup dildos different?

Despite the obvious extra feature of a suction cup base, suction cup dildos are designed for more vigorous use during specific sex acts. For example, a suction cup base allows for:

  • Hands-free use when attached to a smooth surface.
  • Strap-on use when threaded through an O-ring.
  • Preventing going in too far during penetration, as the flared suction cup dildo’s base creates a barrier.

These helpful functions, and many more we are yet to explore, make suction cup dildos extremely versatile – just be careful when removing them from your chosen surface!

How to get the most from your suction cup dildo:

Size matters! Choosing the right size is essential for comfort during use. Always check the base measurements, length, and diameter of a dildo before purchasing.

Material – There’s nothing worse than being excited to try out your new dildo but finding it isn’t compatible with your favourite lube. Always use the recommended lubricant, and if one isn’t recommended, check the material type. If in doubt, only use water-based lube with that product. Check out our Lubricant List here to discover which lube to use with your toys.

Is it harness-compatible? Always make sure your dildo will fit into your harness, if it is too small for the O-ring, it could fall off the harness during use, too tight and you’ll have difficulty removing it and risk tearing or damaging your dildo when removing it from the harness.

Hygiene – Never use the same toy for both anal and vaginal penetration or use with separate partners. Remember, one dildo for each hole to prevent bacteria from spreading. And as always, thoroughly clean your dildo after each use with a sex toy cleaner.
