Under the Mistletoe: Our 12 Days of Foreplay Challenge

By Alex & Jen.

Why We Created a Foreplay Challenge

December is chaotic.
Work deadlines, family plans, cold evenings, endless to-do lists — intimacy can quietly slide to the bottom of the pile.

We realised something a few Christmases ago: we were spending loads of time together, but very little time actually connecting. So we decided to make intimacy part of the festive season instead of something we hoped would magically happen once we were less tired.

Enter: The 12 Days of Foreplay Challenge.

It’s not about pressure, performance, or “finishing”. It’s about anticipation, touch, laughter, and reminding each other why you chose one another in the first place.

How the Challenge Works

  • One small prompt per day
  • No expectation of sex
  • No pressure to escalate
  • Just intention, playfulness, and curiosity

Some days take five minutes. Some turn into longer nights. All of them create momentum.

You can start on December 1st, December 13th, or any day you like. The rules are flexible — the connection is the point.

The 12 Days of Foreplay

Day 1: Compliments Only

Spend five minutes telling each other what you genuinely appreciate — physical or otherwise.
No sarcasm. No jokes. Just warmth.

Day 2: Touch Without Expectation

A back rub, a hand massage, a cuddle on the sofa.
Touch that doesn’t lead anywhere still counts,  and often feels more intimate.

Day 3: Blindfolded Teasing

Remove sight and heighten everything else.
A blindfold or mask makes even the smallest touch feel amplified.

Day 4: Share a Fantasy (Light Version)

Nothing extreme — just something you’re curious about.
Talking is the foreplay.

Day 5: Slow Kiss Challenge

No rushing. No hands wandering.
Just slow, deliberate kissing for as long as you can stand it.

Day 6: Music & Movement

Put on a song that makes you feel connected.
Dance together. Sway. Laugh if you feel silly. That’s part of it.

Day 7: Temperature Play

Warm hands. Cool breath. Maybe a chilled glass or warm mug.
Contrast wakes the body up without crossing any lines.

Day 8: Mutual Exploration

Take turns being the focus.
One person gives attention. The other simply receives.
Switch when you’re ready.

Day 9: Introduce a Toy (If You Want)

This is where couples’ toys can enhance things — not replace connection.

Wearable vibrators, remote toys, or gentle massagers work beautifully here.

Day 10: Words Instead of Touch

Describe what you enjoy about being close.
Sometimes language is more powerful than hands.

Day 11: Build Anticipation

Agree that tonight is about waiting.
Teasing glances. Lingering touches. No rushing.

Day 12: Your Choice

This is your night.
You decide how slow or how indulgent it becomes.

Why This Works (Even for Busy Couples)

The challenge removes pressure.
You’re not asking, “Are we having sex tonight?”
You’re saying, “Let’s connect today.”

That shift changes everything.

It also:

  • rebuilds touch confidence
  • improves communication
  • reduces performance anxiety
  • makes intimacy feel playful again

A Few Ground Rules We Swear By

  • You can skip a day if life gets in the way
  • Laughter doesn’t ruin the mood — it is the mood
  • Saying “not tonight” is allowed
  • Curiosity matters more than outcome
