I am relatively new to stoke, and have been trying to get to grips with the area, I found Pulse and Cocktails very easily, it is located very close to Longton railway station, and on the corner of King Street. From the outside the shop looks like an old pub which I thought was very nice, and again unlike some of the other sex shops I have been in, in my time. When I walked in to the shop the first thing I noticed was the size. This is a very large store based on two levels, the downstairs what is referred to as ‘Cocktails’ by the staff (all of this was explained to me by Ricky one of the members of staff) and the upstairs is ‘Pulse’. In cocktails this is where you would find all your naughty novelties and the costumes to enact your role play fantasies. I was told that this was one of the largest Cocktails departments throughout all the shops. Which I think is great as it is basically on my door step.
The upstairs of the shop is where the adventure really starts, this is where the large selection of toys, and films are, along with the collection of bondage items and other accessories etc. The shop is well set out and does not have the feel of a normal sex shop sex shop, it is more like a normal department store like Debenhams, but with dildo’s instead of duvets. Overall this is a fantastic shop, in a very practical location with very friendly staff and a very relaxed feel to it. I will definitely be coming back here again, and another bonus is the parking is brilliant too! What is not to like about this shop?

I am not normally the sort of person that you would see frequenting adult stores, in fact the idea used to scare the hell out of me. I have always thought of sex shops as places where old pervy men go to get porn etc. I saw the Pulse and Cocktails in Stoke as I was driving past and eventually persuaded myself to go in. The first bonus about this store was the car park was very discrete, I could hide my car away so no-one had to know I was there incase anyone passed, so this was a good feature for me.
When I finally got myself through the door the lady behind the counter could tell I was very nervous about coming in to the shop and was very friendly saying hello, asking if I was ok, and explaining the lay-out of the shop and what sorts of things were where as it was obvious I had never been in a sex shop before. She was very helpful and put me at ease from the start. She showed me a selection of things, and said that I could try the toys on display out, and if there was anything I needed her help with I just had to ask.
I finally persuaded myself to go upstairs, this was where all the stuff I dreaded seeing, when I got upstairs this was just like going into a normal shop, there were no lecherous old men all wearing flasher macs, I had a look round and the guy was as helpful and friendly as the woman downstairs, I left here with a couple of purchases, and was very happy that I did persuade myself to go in. I will definitely be coming back again soon. I would recommend anyone nervous about it to bite the bullet and just go in, you will not regret it!

I live in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and drive past the Stoke shop every day on the way to work, I popped in to get my wife a sexy anniversary present, I was amazed by the spacious car park, so it was easy to park, and the selection of items downstairs was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a great shopping experience and I will be coming back here again soon with my wife for more. Excellent!!!

I come here every time I need something for fancy dress as its stock such a wide range of items, I have the policewoman outfit, the sailor outfit, the army outfit and the like bodesia style costume so I know the shop quite well. Downstairs is full of sexy lingerie, basks and accessories, it also stocks a range of fetish wear in PVC and leather. Obviously the fancy dress stuff is also on the ground floor, one of the ladies that work there has told me that this shop has one of the biggest ’cocktails’ department and stocks much more than some others, they also stock for larger ladies and go up to a size 28.

The great thing about this store is its versatility, if your shy and don’t want to see all the hardcore toys etc… but you still want to have a look at novelties, clothes and a few tame sex toys than you can, as all the extreme stuff is on the first floor. I am like that, im not bothered about all the big dildos and scary whips etc… so its great for me.

If you’re a bit scared of going in don’t be, it’s a really relaxed atmosphere and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I was nervous the first time I went in and was shocked at how normal it was, so just be brave and give it a go.

I have to use the Longton train station quite often to get to and from work so I am a regular in the shop as I have to walk past it so often and its so hard not too go in and see what new things they have got in. My wife loves it as she always gets gifts, mainly underwear as it stocks some of the nicest sets I have ever seen, it also had good offers on items like that which makes it even more harder to say no!
The upstairs section is my favourite though, it is well stocked and sells some of the weirdest things you can imagine up there, but it sells normal things like rabbit vibrators and bullets so the wife sometimes gets those as well.
The best thing about this shop is the staff, I have met all three of them and found them all pleasant and they couldn’t be more willing to help you out. There has been plenty of times where I have gone in and not had a clue what to get and they know the products inside out and can virtually tell you anything you want to know about each product.
I have told my friends from round the area to go and visit it as I know they will enjoy the experience as much as I do.
