Im currently at Hull uni and moved here from Harrogate so I had never seen Pulse and Cocktails before, some of the people who I live with were talking about it and said there was one in Hull. I had started seeing someone from Uni and I decided to drive there one day with her. I wasn’t nervous as I am quite confidant but she was, it took me ages to persuade her to come in I think she thought people in there were going to look at her funny or something.
We went inside and it wasn’t like that at all, staff said hello and we were left to look around, some of the stuff was a bit extreme and we both ended up laughing out loud at some stuff, we couldn’t believe people actually bought some of that stuff! There was loads of toys to look at, some were even out of its packaging and had batteries in them so you could pick them up and see what they did. The woman who worked there came over after we had been in there a while and asked if we needed any help but we didn’t.
I ended up getting a Pure butt plug, it wasn’t badly priced and the girl I was with at the time didn’t want anything so I got something for myself.
I have ended it since then, but still have my butt plug!

I am from Hull but I had never heard of this place until I was driving a customer home after they had been on a night out so they were pretty drunk and started telling me about this place. I mean I have been to Mount pleasant loads of times and never even noticed it.
When I got there I couldn’t believe I had drove past it so many times and not even seen it, especially since it’s a big yellow building! I couldn’t believe how big it was inside, they had everything you could have ever wished for some of the things I hadn’t even heard of. The first side was full of clothing and novelties and I few sex toys, the member of staff that was there seemed nice, she greeted every customer when they walked in.
I knew the sort of thing I had come in for but I just ended up looking around coz there was so much stuff to look at, the bondage section was huge. The guy through the other side was just as friendly and he asked if I needed any help. I didn’t end up spending much as I was a bit overwhelmed over the whole thing, but me and my wife have been back together and we choose a few toys then.

I have lived in Hull all my life, I live a little out of the centre in Kingswood i recently went to the pulse and cocktails in Hull near mount pleasant retail park, the building itself is difficult to miss being bright yellow, but the parking is private and off the road so that is good. I went into the shop just to see if there was anything new. I walked into the shop, and as normal the staff were very friendly, and asked if i needed any help with anything it is always nice to have this done. The shop is quite large and split into two sections, one being for the clothing and naughty novelties, and the other being for the bondage and other sex toys and also the dvd section.
Pulse and cocktails is not like other sex shops, for a start it is bigger than most, and also it doesn’t seem so sleazy to go in there, the location is good because it is away from the centre so it is more difficult to be noticed by someone if you don’t want to be, but then it is convenient enough, and well enough placed so that people from hull will know where it is if you tell them. The staff are always friendly, and willing to help, and they know a lot about all the different sex toys and all the stuff they have for sale.
I would definitely come back again, i don’t want to say what i bought, that is for me and my partner to know, but it was a very good experience going in here, and it brought my confidence up a deal to go into the shop, I will go again, and I will recommend you to do so too.

One night me and my girlfriends were all chatting casually about sex as you do and one of them suggested going to Pulse and Cocktails, were all from round the Hessle area and have never dared to go in before. We all knew about it and thought it was a great idea to go in together you know for moral support haha.
One of us drove and we were all giggling I felt like a naughty school girl, I know none of us knew what to expect apart from it might be a bit seedy and embarrassing but we were all together so it wouldn’t matter.
It wasn’t like that at all, we had so much fun, yea there were lots of things to laugh at like these scary bondage mask and we all got the giggles about other things. The woman who worked there came over and had a bit of a joke with us, which made the atmosphere relaxed and we didn’t feel as though people were judging us for being in there. We bought some novelty items just for the fun and we all said we are not scared to go in on our own anymore or with our partners for that matter.
Completely different experience to what we all thought was going to happen and I would tell anyone who was in the same mind set as us just to go in and if you don’t believe me get a group of friends to go in the first time with you and see what I a talking about.
